James Byers brings 25 years of experience in public
policy issue management and communications to firm
clients. His areas of expertise include coalition
building, business-labor relations, dialogue facilitation,
crisis management and the development of creative
communications programs.
Mr. Byers serves on the
Board of Governors of the National Democratic Club
in Washington, D.C.
Previously, Mr. Byers was Senior
Associate with the Washington political consulting
firm of Walker / Free Associates. He provided public
affairs strategy and writing services to business,
labor and political leaders involved with international
energy, environment, manufacturing, intellectual
property and entertainment issues.
Before beginning
his career in corporate and political communication,
Mr. Byers worked for the National Broadcasting
Company in New York and Washington, D.C. in business
management and on-air technical operations. He
published articles on media issues and worked as
a creative writer for a New York agency. Mr. Byers
came to the East Coast after college graduation
as poetry coordinator and fiction reader for Doubleday & Company
in New York.
Mr. Byers received his B.A. in English
with Departmental Distinction from Colorado College
