James A. Nash is doing research, writing, consulting,
lecturing, and teaching in social and ecological
ethics.
He served as Executive Director of the Churches'
Center for Theology and Public Policy, an ecumenical
research center in Washington, DC, from 1988
to September 1998. During that decade, he was
editor of Theology and Public Policy, a scholarly
journal bringing Christian ethical reflections
to bear on social and political questions, and
Lecturer in Social and Ecological Ethics at Wesley
Theological Seminary in Washington. He is now
a Senior Scholar at the Churches' Center. He
had served previously at the Massachusetts Council
of Churches -- eight years as Associate Director
for Strategy and Action and 13 years as Executive
Director.
For Millian Byers Associates, Dr. Nash is the
convener of a dialogue on ethics and sustainability.
He is also now teaching ecological ethics at
Boston University School of Theology.
Jim Nash received his Ph.D. in social ethics
from Boston University, where he was also a Rockefeller
Doctoral Fellow in Religion. He is a United Methodist
Minister. Among his many writings is Loving Nature:
Ecological Integrity and Christian Responsibility
(Abingdon, 1991).
